A vital part of marketing your business is using a newsletter. If you are not yet using a newsletter,A Newsletter a Must for Your Business Articles you are lacking an important tool to reaching potential customers and to making your existing customers become long-term patrons.

With a newsletter, you will be able to gather the e-mail addresses of interested visitors whom are promising future buyers. More importantly, you will keep in contact with your valuable previous customers.

Customers may return to you if, of course, you have a product they desire and good service. A newsletter though will remind them of you and will keep your website address in front of them. It  will also notify them of any new products they may be interested in. Without a newsletter to follow up, you are risking losing a customer to your competitors.

Newsletters do not need to be long. You can use them to inform your contacts about your products or service. You may want to advise them on related products or services that might benefit them. Maybe you will just use the newsletter to alert them of a sale or to announce a new product or service. Perhaps you will decide sharing tips with your contacts is more appropriate. A good idea may be to offer them a “How to” or “The Top 5" list.  Keep them up to date on news in your business. Whatever style you choose, make sure that it connects the newsletter to your product or service. To be competitive, use a free e-mail account to subscribe to several competitors’ newsletters, just as they will be subscribing to yours. This will keep you informed of what the competitors are offering their customers.

How often you send your newsletter depends on several things. It may be anywhere from daily to several times in a year. It mainly depends on what your business is offering and how often your contacts want to hear from you. It is possible that they may delete or unsubscribe if it is sent too often. However, not often enough will give your competitors an opportunity to reach your potential customers. For many businesses, sending a newsletter once a week is most effective.

Finally, it is important to keep your newsletter consistent. Because of the amazing amount of newsletters that are online, subscribers may get confused as to which ones are legitimate and which ones are spam. You want your newsletter to be familiar so be consistent with your format. On every issue indicate that the newsletter was requested by the subscriber. Also, to reduce complaints or spam reports, always provide a link for the opportunity to unsubscribe.

Your newsletter is an essential part of your business that requires your diligence. It represents your business to many customers and potential customers like no other marketing tool can.
