Every online marketer wants two things for their website. They want traffic and page rank. It is important to get these things in the right way.

Are you familiar with article marketing and want to know exactly why you should do it?  The question becomes whether you should do it for the traffic to your site or the page rank.  The main thing to remember is not to focus on just one or the other.

For example,Are You Submitting Articles For Page Rank or Traffic? Articles if you are submitting your articles to article directories with a high page rank, thinking that it will then increase your page rank because you are sharing that page ran, that is not a good plan.  Think about it this way.  If you are submitting articles to a directory with a page rank of 5, your one article will not get ranked at five.  Plus, a higher ranking article directory will be ranked that well because many people submit their articles there, which means you will have to share that page rank with many other people.

So, it is much more important to use article directories with a lower page rank, as there won’t be the competition for page rank on these sites.

This doesn’t mean that submitting articles to low page ranking sites is the answer, however.  There are some article directories that include nofollow tags on all of their pages.  So, if you do submit your articles there, you won’t get any page rank from them.

You don’t need to fret though.  There are still many good reasons to keep submitting those articles.

Yes, you want traffic and a high page rank, right?  Well, that is not what you want to focus on.  The better benefit is to get your articles published in ezines, other websites, and blogs.  When this happens, you have just created a back link to your website.

For example, when someone in your niche publishes your article on their site, it creates a one way back link to your site.  This will then help you achieve higher page rank and a higher traffic ratio.

So, as you can see, page rank and traffic are both good reasons to submit articles, but it is the process in which you get there.  Yes, it can take time to get everything working this way, but if you are persistent and keep submitting those articles, you will get back links coming non stop.
