How To Save Money On Trade Show Displays

There are many things to consider when it comes to planning your company's trade show displays. Whether you use a trade show stand or pop-up display, one of the most important things you can do is be frugal. Saving money on your exhibit means a greater return on your investment.

Before we get started, we want to be perfectly clear that saving money on trade show displays is an admirable goal and an important topic to discuss, especially for new business owners and companies with very limited budgets. However, there is a difference between being smart with your money and cutting corners. Our goal in this article is to help you create a trade show stand that is effective, classic, and as inexpensive as possible without looking cheap or tacky.
Start Creating Your Trade Show Booths Early
This will save you time and money in a few ways. First, by giving yourself plenty of time to create, you will be less likely to make hasty and costly mistakes because you are pressed for time. Second, you can save on printing and production costs if you can avoid rush fees on services. Finally, you will have more time to plan, and that can help you stay within your budget.
Shop Around And Compare Prices
As with any other business expense, it is always a good idea to shop around to find the best price. Compare closely, however, because sometimes the lowest price does not equal the best value for your money. Let vendors know that you are doing a price comparison, and they might offer to beat a competitor's price.
Don't Forget About Fees For Renting Space
Your registration fees for booth space at the convention cost money too. Always register as an early bird to get the best price on trade show stand space. Most shows will add a premium charge for submitting a booth rental order after a specified deadline. Also, evaluate your space needs and choose only the size and amenities you need. Larger booths, premium locations, and amenities like extra outlets or specialty lighting can cost more.
Avoid Overly Trendy Trade Show Displays
There are a few exceptions to this rule of course, as some businesses make a living off of fads and trends. However, if your company can take advantage of timeless trade show displays and banners, the unit can be reused for many years to come.
Stock Your Trade Show Booths With Reusable Items
The same idea can be applied to your videos, freebies, and literature. Use items that are classics so that they can be reused later. For example, if you print your logo and 'Dallas Convention 2011' on ink pens you are giving away, you will not be able to use those leftover pens at the New Jersey show you plan to attend in just a few months. Your literature should follow suit. Avoid filling your standard brochure literature with holiday discounts or other timely promotional text. Small inserts can be added as a supplement, and you won't have to discard as many of your printed materials.
By keeping these tips in mind, you will be able to save money at your next convention. As a savvy business ownerComputer Technology Articles, saving money and maximizing profits should be your highest priority!
