So what makes blogging one of the most popular platforms today? It helps you build trust and drive more targeted prospects that will eventually buy from you.

Whether you have a traditional website or are a brick and mortar business shifting it's focus to include an online presence, adding a blog to your marketing strategy is important. Adding a blog to your website will help you build lots of internal links which will help increase your websites search rankings. As you continue to add more blog posts, you will be linking them with different keywords to various important pages on your website. If you continue to add more blog posts your website traffic will keep increasing. You can even schedule blog posts in wordpress to release one blog post per day and write your content in advance as much as you want.

The automation and search engine benefits of a blog are great, but the main reason you should put up a blog is to build trust with your website visitors. When they read your blog this gives you all the space you want, even if your website is limited, to discuss aspects related to your business. This will keep your website visitor informed and will eventually build a bond between you and your customers. As the customers get to trust you more they will start buying from you. And if their buying experience with you is positive you can expect them to come back and purchase even more of your stuff.

Having your own blog also increases your repeat visitor rate. Blogs as a general rule get spidered faster than websites, so visitors who saw your site before then later see it again in the search engines are more likely to come back and revisit. Once again this goes back to the trust factor. Another thing you can do to attract more visitors is to find newsworthy information relating to the theme of your blog and rewrite it so the content is unique to your website. For example of you own a Cuban Restaurant go to google alerts and setup alerts on cuban restaurants, so any time information becomes available on this topic you'll get links to the relevant websites and will be able to check them out.

If you do this enough your blog will eventually become an authority on Cuban Restaurants, and people will follow your blog links to your website and eventually get curious about your restaurant. Then when people visit your area they will be enticed to drop in and eat there. Also you can go to the google free keyword tool and search for "CityName Restaurants". You can blog about other restaurants in your area, which will alert other customers to your restaurant. Of course I wouldn't give any bad reviews, because that's just bad karma and businessBusiness Management Articles, and you might meet them at the mall or city hall. So keep your blogging clean but ride on the traffic other popular restaurants in your area receive to drive traffic to your blog and your restaurant site. This is just an example but this technique IMHO is one of the best for any brick and mortar business online.
