Laguna Beach Wedding Photographer Offers Tip: Create Bookings Through Former Clients

Former clients are valuable resources for photographers who are seeking to increase their bookings.

Former clients know you; they know your work and were willing to pay you for your work. This article addresses some ways in which a photographer can stay connected with former clients in such a way as to increase their bookings.

1. As former clients if you can be their facebook friends and regularly post on the work that you are currently doing and other items related to photography which they may find to be of interest. As you post, not only will your work be exposed to your former client, but it will be exposed to your former client's friends as well. Those friends know that their friend trusted you to take their pictures. If you tagged your clients, they will have seen the pictures you took of their friend as well. This builds trust and credibility with a number of people. As people come to you to be their friend the number of exposures your work has will increase. Former clients are likely to be willing to allow you to be their friend so use that fact to increase your reach.

2. Offer a discount to former clients for setting up mini-session parties. Your satisfied clients may during tough economic times want more pictures but can't afford them. Offer these clients a print credit for gathering together a number of their friends and holding a mini-session party. At one of these parties you go to a location with a lot of space - the beachBusiness Management Articles, or a ranch and take a few pictures of a number of families. If there are 4-5 families there and you clear an average of $500 per family you will make $2000 - $3000 on one of these mini session parties. Offer your former client a substantial amount of free print credits. These don't cost much for you but can be very valuable to her.

3. Stay in contact with former clients with an email newsletter. You need to stay in the back of their mind so they can recommend you when a friend is looking for a photographer or they themselves have that need.

Staying in touch and working with your former clients is a great way for a photographer to increase bookings.
