Newport Beach Photographers: 3 Simple ways to Market with a Regular E-mail Newsletter

Orange County photographers can increase their revenue streams by performing e-mail marketing. This article identifies effective ways in which an OC photographer can look outside of the box to find clients.

During difficult economic times people usually cut back on discretionary items. Unfortunately for photographers, outside of wedding pictures, many people see photography services as discretionary. In order to keep demand for his service sufficient during a recession to maintain his revenue streams, a photographer needs to market faster than the economy drops. One way to accomplish this is to stay in touch with past clients and encourage repeat business through a regular email newsletter.

This article offers suggestions for sending an effective email newsletter.

1. Get in the habit of gathering and email addresses whenever possible. It takes the same amount of work to write a letter for 100 people as it does for 1000 people. To best lever your time ask each of your clients if they would like to receive an informational email from you.

2. Only offer a minimal amount of promotional material. Your clients will continue to open and read your emails only if they find insightful technical and creative material. Doing this is a win- win. Your clients will gain information on how to improve their own personal pictures as well as come to see you as an experienced, knowledgeable professional at the cutting edge of her field. While at first blush it may seem like giving tips to others to improve their photography would cut into your business because they begin to take their own pictures for important events, this is rarely the case. When an important event such as a wedding or family reunion comes up, they will want a trusted professional not their own often underdeveloped skills. Your freely giving relevant advice will make you that trusted professional.

3. Keep the newsletter regular. By keeping the newsletters regulars, your clients will come to look for your content. You will find they will begin to wonder what happened if you miss a month. This type of loyalty and on the brain exposure will make you a favorite for photographing their events as well as providing referrals.

During difficult economic times, a photographer needs to expand his marketing efforts to maintain revenue levels. By following the above suggestions, a photographer can, in partFree Reprint Articles, do this by sending out an effective email photography newsletter.
