OC Wedding Photographer Suggests Integrating Production with Marketing

Many new photographers have the idea that marketing is a completely separate function from producing images. While there may be some aspects of production that are not a part of marketing, successful photography studios will integrate their marketing directly into their workflow processes.

After editing every client’s pictures, a photographer should choose several of the best images and use them to market in the following ways:

  1. Post the images on your blog. Readers of blogs love new content. In addition, search engines love new content. By posting the image on ysour blog you are satisfying both. When you are titling your blog entries, be aware of key words on which you want to appear high on the major search engines. For example if you live in Orange County, you may want to work in the phrase Orange County Photographer in the text of your blog. In addition, you will want the image files that you post to have keywords that are relevant to those key words – again this will help your blog come up higher on Google.
  2. Post your best images on sites on the web which allow other people to rate your photos. This will give you some valuable feedback on which of all of your good images resonates with a number of people. Sometimes images that you think are wonderful are not the same that that your client base things are wonderful.
  3. Once you have identified images that are compelling to most of the people who view them, post these images on your website. As good look at Google Analytics will confirm, the vast majority of people do not stay long at any given photography site. A photographer should have only his most compelling images on the home page of the website. These are images that have been viewed and evaluated by a number of different people.
  4. The best images should be tagged on a client’s Facebook account. This will allow all of your client’s friends to see and comment on the images. This is great exposure for the photographer. The photographer should make sure his logo or contact information is on all of the images. The client may complain that he doesn’t want your logo on the image. If that is the case, he can always by the image.

In a photography business marketing is an ongoing function. By performing the above steps after every sessionFree Reprint Articles, a photographer will increase the number of clients he can serve.
