Orange County Photographer offers suggestions on how to bring in extra income

This articles offers suggestions on how a professional photographer can increase revenue.

During uncertain economic times people scale back on many items they normally buy. For some people photography is one of those items. In order to keep revenue steady or to increase it, a photographer must find strategies that bring more value to his clients for which they are willing to pay.

1. In September or October send out an announcement to the clients you have photographed throughout the year letting them know that they you can use their images for holiday cards. The work on the images have already been done. Putting the pictures in a card is not very much extra work. In addition, a holiday card is a great marketing tool. The cards are being sent to friends and family of your client. The fact that this client chose you to produce their card is an implicit endorsement of your work to people who will generally have a strong relationship of test with your client.

2. Personalize the photographic books which you offer your clients. Ask your clients to write a short account in her own handwriting related to the books that are being offered. This personal touch will encourage your client and her friends and family to purchase more and larger copies of the book, thus increasing your profits.

3. Structure your sells presentation so you are selling groupings not just individual images. The reasoning behind this is obvious. You will sell more pictures and your client will have a wall with a more attractive, consistent look. Before the shoot, talk with your client about the wall space they have available in their house. This will help guide your shoot so you can produce a product that meets the available space in their house.

4. Consider renting out your studio. If your studio has empty slots of time, you can put this asset to work by renting it out to others. A number of home based photographers are willing to pay to have a place to shoot when their clients insist on having indoor studio shoots.

During challenging economic times creativity and discipline are needed to grow or maintain revenue. The above four suggestions hasFree Web Content, for many photographers helped in this effort.
