Orange County Photographer Suggests Being Responsive to Maintain Client’s TrustPhotography clients in Orange County, especially areas such as Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach and Irvine, expect a photographer to be responsive to their needs. Communication today is almost instantaneous. People expect a quick response to their inquiries and concerns. This is particularly true for people seeking photography services in Orange County. To succeed in this environment, a photographer must respond quickly to his clients. This article suggests some areas and ways in which a photographer can improve their professional reputation by increasing their responsiveness. First, at a minimum, respond to all emails within a day. This does not mean you need to complete all of the tasks requested in those emails, you just need to offer a response. For example, you might say “I don’t have an answer to that question but I will investigate it and get back with you by (name the date).” In addition a photographer can increase response time by saving drafts of old emails. There are certain questions that a photographer is asked over and over again. Have a set response to these questions. If you think through the issue carefully the first time and save it in an easy to find location, you will be able to quickly send a response off to these common requests. Since photographers often spend a significant amount of time on the road, they should at a minimum, take a lap top so they can check in from time to time throughout the day. Ideally they have a phone with email capabilities. Like emails, a photographer should respond to phone calls at least daily. A potential client who is seeking a photographer often will contact several businesses within an hour. Many times the person who is first to respond gets the job. While being responsive may seem like an extra pressure added to an already full plate, the speedy response times have some definite advantages. First, your clients will have confidence in you. They will respect that you are a competent professional. This type of confidence translates into a willingness to pay higher prices. Second, your responsiveness sets the tone for their responsiveness. Often if you get back to their questions or inquiries within minutes, they will do the same. This means they will be less likely to drag their feet when ordering and making payment, increasing the velocity of your cash flow.
