Is Your Network Marketing Plan Working Out?

This is a good time of year to reassess whether or not your current network-marketing plan is working well. If it is, great, but if it's not, there are still things you can do to set things right so that the rest of your year goes great.

Perhaps a good question to ask at this point is: Do you have a network-marketing plan?

This is a rather obvious question, but if you don't have one, now's the time. Make sure you sit down and put a good one together. If you've got one but it needs some work, let's take a look at what you can do to make things even better. Here are some questions you should be asking yourself:

* What's your niche?

When it comes to network marketing, knowing your niche is your key to success. Study the market before you get started so that you know whom your potential clients or customers are; that way, you'll be much more successful at selling to them.

* Who is your competition?

Starting your competition helps you figure out how to outsmart that competition, of course, but it can also tell you a lot about your prospective customers, too. Take a look at what successful competitors are doing and then figure out how you can do even better with your product.

* What are your goals?

What is it that you want to accomplish this year? Remember, this can change as you go, but it's a good idea to establish clear goals as to what you want to accomplish a month out, in your first quarter, in your first six months, three quarters into the year, and by year's end. Sit down and briefly revisit your goals every month to make sure they're still applicable to what you want and the direction you want to go in.

Establish a budget for both time and money

You may think it's a given when you start your own business that you can simply do what you want with your time. However, most business owners soon realize that they have to budget both their time and their money if they want to be successful. So, sit down and figure out what you can spend both in time and money on your business. It may be, for example, that you're still working a 9-to-5 job as you begin your network marketing business, in which case you'll have to plan to work on your new business in your free time. If you've taken the plunge and are doing network marketing full-time, you're going to have to be even more disciplined.

The thing is, time needs to be budgeted just like money does. Figure out how much time you can spend on your business every day or every week, and specifically, what you're going to be doing during that time. Set down a specific schedule for time spent on research, time spent on marketing, time spent on following up new leads, and so on. Network marketing success takes discipline, which means you're probably going to have to put in at least some time with little return when you first get started.





Now, about money. Figure out what your working budget is for money and then allocate that to marketing, business supplies, utilities, advertising, and any other expenses you have.
