For many of us,Vivid Visions of Happiness Articles one of the enigmas in our life is that we believe we think --- but we don’t think! We only think we think! In reality, we are only echoing and re-acting to what big business, religions, and politicians tell us to think.

Know what I think? I think someday, someone will invent something that goes absolutely nowhere, does absolutely nothing, doesn’t think, is very expensive, and just looks weird. Then they will tell us to think it goes everywhere, does everything, thinks of everything, is very inexpensive, and looks extremely beautiful. Then we will all go expend enormous hours of hard work, run to the store, fight the crowds, purchase it, buy an expensive piece of furniture to put it on in our living room, and proudly tell all of our friends, neighbors, and co-workers “Yep, I’ve got one of those!” Most of us don’t ponder the future course and effects of our actions; for if we did, it’s a 99% sure bet we wouldn’t even consider venturing into a barn yard – at least not with bare feet!

Visualizing our future is a wonderful and beneficial place to hang our hopes and dreams – we all have them! And when our current tribulations and achievements are in some semblance of order, our hopes and dreams are multiplied...the world seems ok, our sensitivity increases, and we are more vibrant, zany, and enthusiastic. Our physical parts glow, tingle, palpitate and quiver. Our minds begin to wander, the imagination kicks in, and some of us cogitate on what type of mischief we can stir up.

If we wish for the blue bird of happiness to visit now and then, our lives should be void of as much consternation as possible. For that to occur, I believe we are compelled to confront reality! The word itself appears to invoke all sorts of dire connotations within us – however; as with many other situations in our lives, when faced, reality can be a very fascinating place and time.

Reality is us and nature, cause and effect. It is who we are, what we do, where we go, what we say, and what we see, hear, feel, taste, smell, sense, think, and imagine. To face reality is to understand, at least a little, of our unique universe, our profound planet, our coveted country, our benevolent bodies, and our magical minds. All of them are prodigiously marvelous and mysterious in their own ways. To assimilate knowledge of one or all is an immensely natural high – and just as significant, the more we educate ourselves of them, the more our ordeals and accomplishments will be placed in their proper perspective. As we do so, we soon become aware of what is, and is not, important, and therein lays the path to our happiness – at least for me!
