Note: The following contains spoilers for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68, by Akira Toriyama.

Throughout the Dragon Ball Super chapters, Vegeta never saw the light of the day. From standing in the audience members to analyzing Goku’s power level like a geek, the self-proclaimed Prince of Saiyans has nothing going on with him. However, there were some instances where the Prince of Saiyans broke his character and even went on to kill Lord Beerus when he slaps Bulma in the Battle of Gods arc. He even manages to scratch Lord Beerus, which is never done before, even by Goku!

Vegeta is yet to reach Goku, Beerus, Jiren, and other strong characters’ level in terms of powers and strength. Even Vegeta’s analytical skills are a big hurdle in his way of surpassing his only rival Goku. Vegeta is a smart person, and he likes to overthink before attempting any strong attacks like Spirit Bomb or so. On the other hand, Goku is a heedless fighter who attacks with brute force without overthinking the situation. As Whis explains the theory behind Ultra Instinct, and in his own words, the idea of Ultra Instinct is, “It’s an ultimate technique that severs the consciousness from the body to allow the body to subconsciously move it to even attack and evade. It’s called ‘Ultra Instinct’.”

Considering Vegeta’s sense of mind and his fighting style, he may never achieve Ultra Instinct, but in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 68, Lord Beerus explains that Ultra Instinct is not the only technique Gods of Destructions use. He even gives an insight into how Vegeta can increase his powers and even achieve the levels of Ultra Instincts.

As Vegeta and Lord Beerus sit down to watch Goku train with Whis, Vegeta urges to learn a not exclusively Ultra Instincts technique. He even went on to say that he wants to own a technique other than the one used by his arch-enemy Kakarot. To that, Beerus replies that he is not a trainer, and if Vegeta wants to learn something, he can watch him do some exercise, and if he finds something useful in the training, he can steal it!

Conclusion

Beerus is a powerful celestial being, or should we say, the god of the universe 7. He is so powerful that he can destroy the universe if he feels like it. But considering Goku and Vegeta’s determination to accord the Gods’ untapped powers, Beerus might concede to spend more time with them and watch some regular Saiyans achieve incredible feats in their life. After Goku’s uprising with Ultra Instincts, maybe it’s time for Vegeta to reign over the most dominant fighter’s throne in universe 7.
