AOL will be launching Truveo (a video
search engine) in the UK, following its success in the US. This company
is looking to increase its online presence by also launching the search
engine in France, Spain Germany, India, Japan and Korea.
Truveo
has been around since 2004 and it does have a large non-American users
base, hence the opportunity to expand. Unlike Youtube, Troveo doesn't
just store videos uploaded by members but also indexes them to
different sources on the web such as the BBC and YouTube itself.
So, if your looking for a specific video on the web this might just be site to go to.
