It just stood out because it immediately conjured up the Manti Te'o ordeal. In case you don't know what I'm referring to, Manti Te'o is the Notre Dame football player who was duped online by a guy who he thought was a girl. It was bad enough that the guy was a girl, but to it off, his online love interest supposedly died the same day his grandmother died-talking about heartache. This made headlines because Te'o was considered to be a top NFL draft pick. All of the sudden, talk shifts from his on field performance to his life off field. In his case, not good.

That's sports. Give me a good book anytime. In this case, it's called Busted: Cyberstyle...An Undercover Approach to Online Dating. It was one I had read last year, but I found it interesting because the author, GeVonna wrote the book switching back and forward between her real self (Honey Crisp) and her alter ego (Paris). Now you see why I was drawn to the book again?

I found the book to be an easy read, though sometimes a bit confusing as the characters switched back and forth often revealing the true motives of her online suitors. One has to wonder though, how some could be so gullible.

I've been following the Te'o saga and if I didn't know better I would have thought he made it all up. But when I read Busted, I realize that we make our would -be suitors who we want them to be-even in real life.

From the book I gleaned that men seemed to love "bitches." Not in a slutty sense, but more of the "I don't give a damn" attitude-that was Paris. While Honey Crisp seemed like a better catch, in the sense she was genuine and still had it going on, it was Paris' online life that was far more entertaining. Just ask the good doctor in the chapter, "Doctor, Doctor."

GeVonna seemed to have fun with the book as she shared her real life online escapades as she zigzagged between the two characters. It's an internet dating primer of sort as she came across amusing fellows such as evidenced by some of the colorful titles of the chapters in the book: "Freaks Don't Only Come Out at Night," "Caution: Fruitcakes Have Nuts," and "Only the Name Changed."

She even revealed how she, "The Internet Dating Diva" as she's sometimes called, almost got busted herself. The last chapter in the book is called "Just a Pew Away" where she reels in her real life crush on line. Undoubtedly the best chapter in the book, it was the saddest- ala Manti Te'o...well, almost. It shows what happens when masquerading goes too far. This would be considered "catfishing" at its finest.

Nonetheless, it's a good book. I even read it again. If you've ever done online dating, or plan to Bused: Cyberstyle is definitely one you should have in your arsenal.

As for Manti Te'oFeature Articles, he should have stuck Busted in between the pages of his playbooks.
