Jorge Rosales Dies In LA County Jail

Jorge Rosales was only 18 when he passed away at the LA County Jail last week.

Jorge Rosales was only 18 years old when he unexpectedly passed away while being detained at the Los Angeles County Jail in the twin towers. Unfortunately he had a seizure, and the jail authorities tried to revive him but were unsuccessful which is what Jorge’s brother Gustavo Rosales said. The abuse of inmates at the LA County Jail seems to be becoming more commonplace these days. The FBI seems to be currently investigating these recent allegations of abuse and I believe they have reason to do so.

The Rosales family attorney Luis Carrillo said that a LA County deputy punched him in the head just two days before he died. And although Rosales asked for medical care, he never apparently got any. There is been a fire under the sheriff’s department for some time regarding the treatment of prisoners inside the Los Angeles County jail. So far over 24 deputies have had some sort of disciplinary action taken against them for applying excessive force on inmates and for trying to cover up certain types of abuses that happens these inmates.

Michael Genacco which is currently heading the Los Angeles County office of Independent review states that most of the deputies that work at the jail aren’t engaged in any type of illegal misconduct. However he did mention that there are some who aren’t fit to work in the jail, and there are some who after being exposed to daily violence might end up eventually committing excessive force themselves. Since the Rosales death just happened about a week ago, the LA Sheriff’s apartment still investigating to find out exactly what happened.

There was an autopsy that’s a place on Monday in the autopsy wasn’t able to determine any type of significant findings at the time the autopsy was taken which was mentioned by Nicole Nishida who is a current spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. However it appears that this autopsy has been deferred for later testing, which will more than likely take some more time. The FBI is already looking into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for several cases of potential wrongdoing.

Luis Carrillo the family attorney for Jorge Rosales and his family, believes that the Justice Department should also get involved in addition to the FBI. Mr. Creel believes that the Sheriff’s Department doesn’t have the ability to investigate their own department and their own members, and that because of this, a federal investigation needs to be launched so they could finally get to the root of the issues here. Luis has now filed a formal complaint on behalf of the familyArticle Submission, and more than likely the next step is can a be a lawsuit. The reason for this is that they don’t want any more victims of abuse on behalf of the LA Sheriff’s Department.
