Be Familiar with A Little Bit About The Tea Party Movement

The Tea Party Movement are words which have been circulating around America, now that the year for presidential election is nearing, and now that many are dealing with the Great Recession.

The words “Tea Party” seem to be in everyone’s lips today, most especially with the American Presidential race just around the corner and the “Occupy Wall Street” protests becoming a lot more than what was expected or even predicted. 

For those not familiar with what this is about, the Tea Party that is now rabidly mentioned over the media even as this article is being written, is not the historic Boston Tea Party. However, the current day movement is loosely based on that protest against the English monarchy.

Today, the Tea Party is considered a conservative and libertarian movement that sponsors protests against issues like how the government spends their money and how the government is imposing taxes on the already exhausted Americans so it can keep the soldiers in nations like Afghanistan. 

But what’s so controversial to the media and the world is the country’s debt and how the present Obama administration cannot manage the situation. Coming right behind it is the argument on the Tea Party racism that seems to grip some of the more visible and vocal members running for president under the banner of the Republican party, Senator Michele Bachman and Herman Cain.

Well, Mr. Cain would absolutely argue on the accusations of him being a racist since he, himself, is an African American, but for Senator Bachman, she may be having trouble dealing with the gay and lesbian community and whatever organizations and foundations associated with them. Technically, the Senator could be accused as a racist due to her views on the LGBT community.

The Tea Party is not without its usual bag of controversies, thanks to the Bachman movement that espouses it, but there are more issues which have angered many Americans who discover the lack of leadership within the party as harmful to the country. Even with the economic crisis confronted by the country, the movement may have an increased number of followers, and these are individuals who find the current administration hopeless.

The controversy behind the movement is building and has alarmed many, especially when followers are growing virally. One example why lots of people are worried, is because the movement is so uncontrollable. There are followers of the movement who have vandalized properties and equipments belonging to individuals who refuse to support the movement. There have also been some who are met with harsh media disapproval for accusing President Obama as following the tracks of Hitler and Lenin.

As of today, Tea Party movement is in charge of all the famous protests dominating the country. Thanks to the Republican candidates of the presidential position, the movement is becoming more influential. Note to self that although the movement is mostly promoted by members of the Republican party, it is not a movement from the said party.
