The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Paul Svejda of Orlando, Florida, has been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint for more than 20 years and there are many famous people active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

There are famous people of all walks of life that consider themselves to be Mormons and contribute donations and their time to the church every year. Here are a few of the famous faces you may know that are active in The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Jon Heder, the actor best known as Napoleon Dynamite, has been active in the church since he was very young. He served a Latter Day Saints mission in Japan when he was nineteen. There he learned to speak Japanese and taught scouts to the Japanese kids. He is still currently teaching scouts as a scout master to children all across the United States.

Gladys Knight, known as the empress of soul, is an R&B artist from the late 1960's and 1970's who has been huge in The Church of Latter Day Saints. She wrote many of the newer songs for the choir so that she could inject some pep into their songs. She is the lead choir director for the Latter Day Saints group Saints Unified Voices. She has also lead this group to a Grammy Award winning CD called One Voice.

Stephenie Meyer, the author of the popular Twilight Saga, was born and raised a Mormon. From a very young age, she helped her mother to raise her large Mormon family being the second of six children. After she wrote the Twilight Saga and gained her notoriety, she started donating to the Church of Latter Day Saints and became a more active member. She always has been active in weekly church activities, but now that she is able to work from home she has more availability to participate in other church functions.

Amy Adams, made famous by her performance in the Disney movie Enchanted, was born into a military family that took Mormon values and ideals everywhere they went. She says that it instilled the basic properties of her life, do unto others and good will toward man, practices that she strives to meet daily.
