Mod clothing is something that started perhaps more than 50 years ago that became the trend back in the 1950s to the 1960s. Of course mod clothing are returning and better than ever, the same goes with vintage clothing which is becoming the mainstream today.


Mod is a shorter term for modern and back then mods are actually a group of people, a sub-culture that originated in London around the ‘50s. As for vintage clothing, anything that’s more than 25 years old can be considered vintage although to some they have cut it down to just 20 years so the ‘80s are also being considered as vintage now.


Mod clothing is of course also considered as vintage and there are clothes and items out there that are available at thrift shops and vintage stores, they are not produced today but were also worn in their time. Yes, they are previously owned and that is what makes them vintage and valuable to some of us.


But of course there are those who are re-creating mod styles like contemporary brands are taking it now. A lot of brands have probably come up with a mod or vintage collection once in their business life or that they have tried to make clothes that look older.


For vintage clothes found in vintage inspired stores, they often come in higher price tags so it may be advisable to buy clothes at thrift shops for the authentic pre-loved clothes if you are on a budget.


Though possible to find true vintage items in thrift shops and stores at lower prices, it requires patience and time as you will have to go out there and search for the item that you want.


Retro style dresses, vintage and mod are tagged with prices that are in the range of what the common dresses have today. Therefore it is more accessible to find items and get the look that you want. It’s also quick and easy with the technology of the internet as you don’t have to leave the house when shopping for these items or you can even shop while you are in the office during your break for it only takes a few simple clicks.
