SEO Keyword Density – What It Is And How It Can Be Achieved

SEO keyword density is your way of attaining high page rankings on internet search engines.  Learn more about keyword density so you will understand its importance and find out how it can be of help to your online success.

SEO keyword density involves the application of SEO techniques in order to optimize a website. The essence is to achieve the correct keyword density in order to achieve high page ranks on top search engines on the internet.  Keyword density aims to achieve balance. It helps ensure that a website or web page has just the right amount of targeted keywords/phrases; not too many or too few.  If the keyword density of a web page is not that effective or accurate, it will most likely not rank high on the search engine result page or SERP. Calculating Keyword DensityFirst, ascertain how many the total number of words in the web page's content or body is. Count how frequent the target keyword was mentioned; or how many time you have read the keyword in the body of the page content.  Next, divide the total number keyword counts by the number of total word count. Convert the answer to percentage by multiplying it by 100 to get the keyword density percentage.  Importance Of Keyword DensityDensity, along with prominence is very important in understanding the algorithm used by Google and other search engines in ranking web pages.  Once you mentioned a word the first time, the search engine will already distinguish that the web page is all about this particular word.   Therefore, in the title, the keyword should already appear; otherwise, the search engine will assume it is about another topic. If there are two keywords appearing on the title, the engine would be unsure whether the document is about which of the keywords.  Density of keyword will become the search engine's basis once it sees the first keyword appearing on the first paragraph of the content.  More than one density will give clarity to the search engine. What Keyword Density Percentage To Aim ForA percentage on keyword density of about 3-5% will yield adequate efficiency in ranking high on search engines. Too high a percentage will only annoy readers and it will also be perceived as spam by search engines.  Latent Semantic Indexing or LSIIf you have low keyword density, you can also achieve a high page rank.  It is known that LSI utilizes keywords that are greatly related to a main or targeted keyword/key phrase that is randomly used all over the content.  It functions as substitute for the targeted words that is supposed to be used again and again in the content.  Keyword In Title, Subheadings, Text And HyperlinkAs mentioned earlier, the target word should appear on the title of the content or article. It should also appear on the subheadings so that when the search engine scans the article, it will easily and quickly find the keywords. The keyword must also appear and be used as the final word in the text body.  You may also incorporate the keywords in hyperlinks, yet this will not add to SEO overkill or keyword stuffing (placing too many keywords in the content).Choosing The Most Appropriate KeywordsIf you want to attract more targeted traffic to your site, you need to use the most appropriate keywords instead of the vaguePsychology Articles, generalized and highly competitive ones.
