How to make a good toast
Toasts are one the most important moments at the wedding. Most of us get nervous and don't know what to say. We want to look good and say something that can make look good our friends or family. Everybody rack their brains when time for proposing the toast comes.
It might not be easy to decide what exactly to say. Well,
simple things occur to be the most difficult in some cases, so make it simple. Toast definitely confirm that theory.
Who should say what? Best way to avoid nervous situation about it is letting the wedding couple decide who and when should speak. When the order is decide it should be written down. The whole list should be given to best man who is the right hand of the groom at the wedding. Advisable is to tell guests a bit earlier when toast is supposed to be proposed. Remember not to force anybody to make a toast! Some people may feel really uncomfortable in front of large audiences.
There are two different possible of orders that can be taken. First is more traditional which means that father of the bride starts, than groom speaks and after him his best man. Second choice, more popular nowadays is to go different, than tradition says. Here we have more varieties like: best man toast to the groom, maid of honor toast to the bride, father of the bride toast to the groom, bride to the groom, groom to the bride etc.
When decide about timing of speech we should think about all our guests and not to make them too tired because of numbers of long toasts. That's why we can decide to make all toasts at one time, in example just before or after cutting the cake, when all guests are gathered together. Toasts can be given also between the meals. Best man should signal the start of the toast. If we want to make toast in different moments of the wedding we should take care to make them short.
The last thing left is what to say. It's really hardest part of all in this tak. Everyone who tried it shouldn't have any doubts about it. That's why before writing the toast down we should know a few short tips that will help us avoid mistake or trouble. Tips like: be polite, don't make fun of the couple (but you might tell a joke), don't judge or speak about their ex girlfriends or boyfriends, use some interesting quotations, and try to make this interesting and not too long etc. And don't be nervous and that's it!
