One skater who is new but has blossomed into one of the best is David Gonzalez.

David Gonzalez was born in Columbia, South America in 1990. He is still living there, but has managed to increase his popularity across the entire world. When he was younger he used to skate around the streets a lot. This caused him to accidently be picked up by local police searching for street kids. However, he was soon released when they realized he was only skateboarding; this still happens to him sometimes, even though he is famous. The main way he became famous was due to the fact that he loved travelling to Bogota whenever he could to skateboard at some of the best places there. He has a great deal of sponsors who are renowned all over the globe. Some of these sponsors are Volcom, Ricta, Fury, CCS, and Mob. Although he has only been active since 2008 he manages to not only stay at the same levels as other professional skaters, but go above and beyond what they do. He has visited major places such as Barcelona, Australia, and even England, and still goes to these places for many events. He is a commonly seen person in skate photos and skate magazines as well. Some of his major achievements so far in his young career life are ones such as placing 4th at the Maloof Money Cup 2010 Pro Street Qualifiers. In 2009 he placed fifth during the Dew Tour Park Qualifier, and is currently embarking on the most challenging event in 2010 – the Hate, Kill, and Destroy Contest Series, and is found in many skate videos.
