Yankess loses to A’s without Rodriguez
Although the Yankees have shown that they can win without the presence of Alex Rodriguez in the field,Sports Headlines: Yankees, Tim Tebow And More Articles it is certain that manager Joe Girardi wants him back as soon as possible, as he knows how valuable the player is to the club, and that was pretty clear yesterday when New York lost to the Athletics by 6-5 in a game where the Yankess could not score until the eighth inning, and even though they push it to try and win, their efforts where just not enough for an Oakland team that wanted it more.

Tebow might be released by Broncos
There are strong rumors about Tim Tebow leaving the Broncos, and probably the quarterback himself wants out, as Kyle Orton was officially announced as the first string QB for the team, while Brady Quinn was announced as second, leaving Tebow as the third string man, though it seems like the Denver franchise actually wants the Heisman trophy winner to play somewhere else instead of leaving him in a position where he could not see any real development on his first professional year at the NFL.

Red Sox wins first game of series against Rangers
Thanks to their victory over the Rangers by 11-5 and a loss by the Yankees to the Athletics by 6-5, the Red Sox are now sharing the lead of the American League East and improved to 78-50. This was the first of a four-game series which is being played at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas, and tonight the series continues with the second game (with the Red Sox sending Josh Beckett to the mound while the Rangers will be sending Matt Harrison), which Boston is hoping to win in order to have a good chance of taking the series.

Colts hires Kerry Collins
The Colts are hoping for a prompt recovery for Peyton Manning, who is still getting his strength back after undergoing neck surgery during the offseason, but they know that they need someone experienced and capable to be a substitute for the star quarterback, and so they hired Kerry Collins, who is a veteran of sixteen seasons that has played for 5 teams in the NFL (most recently with the Tennessee Titans). The arrival of Collins is no surprise, as the Colts are aware of the fact that Curtis Painter does not have the necessary experience to make of the franchise a contender for the super bowl, and proof of that are the 2 preseason games on which he had started, as he didn’t threw a single touchdown pass.
