The past Tuesday June 17th night will be remembered as one of the greatest nights for the Celtics,The Celtics are back! Articles for the city of Boston and for the NBA basketball itself. It was a night where the Boston greats made history again, where every basketball fan couldn't help to reminisce the Celtics golden era and the meaningful legacy they have left in the sport.Since this season's Playoffs Finals were determined between the all-time rivals Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics, it was expected that this would be a great final, full of memories and emotions. And that was just what happened. The NBA Championship Final series kept the spectators at the edge of their seats since Game 1, when for a moment Boston thought it would be losing its captain Paul Pierce when he collide with his teammate Kendrick Perkins and had to be charged and taken out in wheel chair with an injured knee in the middle of the third quarter. However, Pierce returned in the last quarter when there were only 5:04 minutes left in the game, which inspired his team to finish with their first victory of the series. They also secured home-court advantage winning Game 2, where Pierce leaded his team with 28 points to move to the first game in Los Angeles with a 2-0 advantage. The Lakers managed to overcome Game 3, pulling the series 2-1 and then in Game 4 the L.A. team had the control with a comfortable difference of 20 points average during the first half of the game, however, reminiscing the good old times, the Celtics written one more page in the lore of the most famous rivalry in the league when they made one of the biggest comebacks in the Finals history rallying from a 24-points deficit to win the game 97-91, taking command of the series 3-1 and leaving the Lakers a defeat away from elimination in their own home-court.Game 5 began similarly than Game 4, the Lakers winning for more than 20 points in the first quarter and even though the Celtics managed to recover sooner and the score board was quite tied for almost all the game, the Lakers didn't allowed Boston to open any champagne bottle on their home-court and won the game 103-98, pulling the series 3-2 and moving to East again for Game 6.And then, the night Boston was dreaming about for the last 22 years finally came. In Game 6 at home, the Celtics, cheered by an emotional crowd filled of rejoicing and prideful fans chanting "Beat L.A." and "Seven-teen" were absolutely dominant in every single way; their defense was unbreakable and their offense unstoppable, finishing the game with 48 rebounds, 14 of them offensive. With a score advantage increasing since the early stages of the game, the crowd and the team itself began celebrating since the beginning of the last quarter, anticipating the dazzling victory of 131-92.The green was back in the NBA.Another page in the winningest franchise in NBA's history has been written and there are images that document the main character's emotions, such as when the 2008 Finals MVP Paul Pierce gave a Gatorate bath to his fine dressed coach Doc Rivers a few minutes before reaching the championship; or when Kevin Garnet collapsed on the court with tears of happiness and later hugged former Boston star and eleven-times championship winner Bill Russell. These images will stay in the minds of every Boston fan for years to come as the league's greatest comeback.
