This CD Destruction device securely and permanently removes digital information from a variety of optical storage media. This "MANUALLY OPERATED" device is ideal for venues where power is not required and/or available. Unit deploys a patented technology that grinds the information layer off of CD, CD-ROM or CD-RW discs in accordance with NSA/CSS 04-02 guidelines. Combined with the manual DVD Splitter, the unit is equally effective for DVDs. Data layer is ground into a fine powder leaving a polycarbonate disc with no trace of the original data. The disc can then be recycled or thrown into the trash. All data is eliminated completely and permanently and there is no possibility of forensic recovery. The Model SEM DX-CDM-DEP Digital Shredder - Manual with Deployment Kit combines the DX-CDm Optical Media Grinding manual system with a custom design deployment case. The unit itself grinds the information layer off of media. Data is eliminated completely with no possibility of forensic recovery. Includes a lockable hard plastic case.
