Before the start of this seasons Dancing with the Stars I have to admit I had grown weary of the b-list celebs and over-the-top judges. The entire time Chloris Leachman was on,Dancing With The Stars Carries You Away! Articles I refused to watch a second of it. But then along came Gilles Marini, Lil Kim, Ty Murray, Melissa Rycroft, The Woz, Julianne's boyfriend, Chuck Wicks, Denise Richards, Shawn Johnson, and a few others that really didn't interest me.

Who did I find to be the most interesting? Gilles Marini was the one I couldn't wait to see. Marini was on my radar after watching the Sex and the City movie where he played Dante. Just like in Sex and the City, he proved to be the best entertainment on Dancing with the Stars. He turns the heat up in the ballroom when he dances. Carrie Ann Inaba even mentioned how lucky his wife was.

Denise Richards was disappointing. She lacked talent and personality, two very important attributes for anyone appearing on the program. The Woz might have been the person I would like to hang out with the most, but he wasn't cut out to be a dancer. Chuck Wicks gave it his all, and lasted longer than most. I didn't really like Lil' Kim until I saw her dance so amazingly well. Derek Huff did wonders with his choreography and inspiration. They were a team that showed talent as well as chemistry. That's why I was very surprised when Lil' Kim was knocked out of competition with four other couples still alive.

As it stands right now the last couples in competition are Melissa and Tony, Ty and Chelsie, Gilles and Cheryl, Shawn and Mark. With nearly no preparation Melissa replaced an injured Jewel just before shooting began this season. She showed immediately that she had ballet training. Her performances have been close to perfection, earning her perfect scores in the last show. But getting thirty out of thirty from the judges isn't a guarantee that you'll be around on the next show. (Just ask Sabrina Bryan, who was eliminated early in another season after receiving a perfect score.) Rodeo champion Ty Murry has worked on his dancing the most and it shows. He happens to be very adorable too. Having a rodeo star background gave him a wide, diverse fan base during voting, but did little in the way of preparing him for dancing. Shawn Johnson's Olympic performance was so endearing, and her dancing is the same. And rounding this amazing cast of celebrities is Gilles Marini who didn't make a move I didn't absolutely love.

Who will win? An additional couple returns home this week. But afterwards, when only three celebrities and their partners are left, each dance team has a chance to prove to the judge's they're the ones who deserve to win. I will certainly be watching.

On a side note, one of the best ways to watch Dancing with the Stars is in high definition. After fifteen years with my regular 32-inch screen I decided to take the leap and make the HDTV upgrade with a new widescreen TV. What a difference! HD really gives you that 'you're really there' feeling. I had no idea how good it was. If you get an HD high definition TV you'll need to contact your local cable provider to get the most out of it. I called Comcast Cable, my cable service supplier, and add HD channels to my already great channel lineup. And the HDTV picture form Comcast is amazing. I thought "what the heck?" and added the Comcast Digital Voice and High speed internet while I was at it since they could be added for such a low rate. My download speeds and television picture are by far the fastest and clearest I have ever experienced with my new broadband service and HD Comcast Cable. I can call all my friends and family nationwide without paying long distance charges with the amazing Digital Phone service. If you are moving to an area that is covered by Comcast, or it is your local cable provider, I recommend calling them sooner rather than later to order their great services. I suggest using the web to find the best Comcast Cable promotions and savings out there. You really can save a bunch if you know where to find them. The Triple Play Bundle is the best way to go so make sure you consider it. All three digital services for a big discount from Comcast.
