The new Blackberry Bold Touch handset is the fourth generation of the popular Bold range and is being hailed as the best Blackberry device ever released.  We have seen brands such as HTC and Motorola stick to a tried and trusted formats with their models however the evolution of the Blackberry range has been quite fascinating.  This brand has shifted from phones designed purely for the business user to ones that have become popular and fashionable amongst not only younger users but a string of famous stars, helping to further enhance the brands profile.  So how does this new handset differ from the Bold 9780, a phone that was released a mere 8 months ago?
Lets start by taking a look at the dimensions of the phone where you can see the developers have been hard at work losing vital millimetres off the new models depth with the result being a phone that feels much more comfortable in your hand.  The new 10.5mm depth makes this the most slimline Blackberry to date giving it further appeal to ist new generation of younger admirers.  The screen on the phone is one area that has undergone quite a massive change.  Resolution has jumped from 480 x 360 to 640 x 480 resulting in the Bold Touch offering a higher quality of image.  The screen has also been increased in size on the new model to 2.8inches which is welcomed not only because it makes reading lengthy messages that little bit easier but also give your fingers a little bit more room to work with on the new touchscreen panel.  This is Blackberrys first device of its kind to incorporate both a full Qwerty keypad together with a touchscreen.  The screen uses capacitive technology which ensures it responds to the slightest touch but seasoned Blackberry users will be pleased to note that the incredibly accurate optical trackpad is also present as an alternative method of navigation.
An area that many new phones are instantly judged on is their media features and the Blackberry Bold Touch boasts some of the best ever seen from the brand.  Whereas the 9780 Bold sported a still camera with the same 5 mega pixel resolution as the new model the developers have included a massive array of features on the new phone that would delight even a seasoned photographer.  A number of scene modes are available together with smile and blink detection, manual ISO modes and image stabilisation to give user a comprehensive photo package.  Things improve further when it comes to video capture with the Touch offering 720P high definition facilities.  This is not only a big improvement on other versions of the Bold phone but it also brings the phone inline with some of the leading handsets currently available
