A GPS fleet tracking system is a program that provides companies with the ability to track their vehicles whenever they wish. The system offers status reports pertaining to the location of the vehicles, whether or not they are currently in motion and even the exact speed at which they are moving. Additionally, some of these programs offer information used to track driver behavior and performance, such as the amount of time spent at the job site or whether the vehicle is being used for personal errands.

Step 1 – In order to make proper use of these devices, the first step is to open the program on the computer. Locate your “search” or “find” tab and click on the vehicles you wish to view from the options listed. Most programs offer the ability to track multiple drivers at the same time. Locate the “satellite” tab to check up on the driver from an overhead view or choose “map view” if you wish to check out a map of the exact street where the vehicle is located.

Step 2 – If you want to check on the current status of a driver or find out information regarding the day’s activity, then you should head over to the “reports” tab. This particular area of the program is designed to show how many instances the driver has stopped, the time in which the shift began, and the status for the entire fleet. If you wish, you can even print a detailed report for each driver by clicking “print reports”.

Step 3 – You can also send text messages to particular drivers through your GPS Fleet Tracking System. To do so, select the “messages” screen and choose “create message”. Here, you can designate whether to send a one-off message to an email or choose an address from the contact list that is provided. Select “inbox” in order to check out any received messages or choose the “sent” option to view any correspondence that has been sent. The “delete” tab is used to delete both single and multiple messages alike.

Step 4 – If you wish to create a route or email specific directions to a particular driver, you should select the “route” tab. Here, you are afforded the ability to add a route, post a stop point, or view a route within Google maps before sending it to the driver in question through the message system. You can also check a route’s time and distance while organizing and editing previous routes.

Step 5 – While the previous tips will work wonderfully to get you going, there may be instances which require additional knowledge in order to accomplish the task at hand. To avoid any unnecessary stress or hassle, it’s a good idea to take the initial time and read the manual prior to installation. In this way, you can better prepare yourself for any issues that may arise later onScience Articles, and make the most out of your GPS Fleet Tracking System each and every day.
