Relive the old memories and celebrate it with a keychain pocket watch

Whenever we speak about reliving our old memories we tend to remember the good old days when we used to have classic designer motor cars, keychain pocket watch and the long lasting gramophone player in the household. 

I used to have one classic keychain pocket watch which I lost one day when I was playing with my grandchild in the field. I tried to search for it everywhere but my search was in vain. Then I told my son about it and the reply that I got from him actually made me mad. It was a keychain pocket watch gifted by my wife who is no more, during our first anniversary.

My son said that there is no need to have an old watch like this anymore as he was buying me the latest branded wrist watch from the market. I could not say anything but I asked myself the question that will they abandon me the same way if I become very old someday and is of no use to them. Years passed on like this and I kept silently weeping that I was unable to protect the beautiful keychain pocket watch which was the last memory of my wife’s love. Last month was my birthday.

Since I am already in my late 70s, I am ready to meet God any day he answers my call. Therefore I was no too excited about my birthday as others in the family were. My grandson is 24 years by now. That day when they arranged a party to celebrate, I quietly came down and started accepting everyone’s gift and greetings. That day I was missing my wife the most. Then my family members started presenting their gifts for me.

My son had given me a new mobile with lifetime validity. I heartily laughed on my own imagining a lifetime connection for a 78 years old man. Then I was about to open my grandson’s gift and thus I made myself ready for another weird surprise gift awaiting for me inside the gift wrapped packet. To my most wonderful experience in decades I saw a beautiful keychain pocket watch inside which was just the replica of the original one I had years ago. I could not stop the tears rolling down my eyes. My grandson gave me a hug and I became more emotional. That day I felt that I had everything I could ever dream about. It was as if God was waiting for the right time to give me the right gift I needed the most. I could not sleep that night and kept looking at that precious keychain pocket watch.
