Amazing Arizona

Arizona has much more to offer, though, as here are many national parks and outdoor attractions and the terrain ranges from mountains to desert with thousands of acres of green forest, interesting rock formations and desert plants, including the famed saguaro cactus, which can tower at heights up to 50 feet.

One of the most fascinating holiday destinations in the United States is Arizona. Its natural wonders are world-famous and the Grand Canyon is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the US, if not the entire world. Arizona has much more to offer, though, as here are many national parks and outdoor attractions and the terrain ranges from mountains to desert with thousands of acres of green forest, interesting rock formations and desert plants, including the famed saguaro cactus, which can tower at heights up to 50 feet.

Arizona’s cities and towns are also unique and hospitable places to visit. The state’s three largest cities, Phoenix, Tucson and Mesa each have their own unique flavor and the smaller cities and towns are well worth a visit, too. Sedona is a fun destination, with lots of local artists and colorful characters living in an area noted for its beautiful rock formations and spiritual, New Age vibe. Drive up the winding mountain road to Jerome, Arizona to see a real ghost town - the mining community abandoned the precariously-perched town which has since been taken over by artisans and painters who make a living from the tourist trade.

The southern part of the state is a great place to explore, especially the area around Tucson. Here you will find the Saguaro National Park and lots of other attractions including Kitt Observatory, the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum and the film location/amusement park known as Old Tucson studios, where John Wayne and many other Western stars shot it out with the bad guys for the silver screen.

Arizona hotels and resorts are world-famous and there are resorts and Tucson hotels, Phoenix and all the major cities in every price range from budget to luxury. There are camping facilities all over the state and for those who would like a real taste of the Old West, there are even “dude ranches” where the visitor can get a chance to ride, rope and shoot like a real cowboy. Arizona is one of the sunniest and friendliest places on the planet, so don’t miss a chance to visit on your next holiday.
