Many kids flying for the first time are quite anxious and nervous. Also there are many things you must prepare in advanced for your flight with your children. Things can get pretty stressful leading up to the flight and also during the flight. However with a bit of preparation and persistence it is very possible to travel stress free with your kids. Here is some best advice on traveling with kids on the airplane.

1. Wear comfortable clothes on the plane

It is a good idea to wear comfortable clothes for yourself and for your children while on the airplane. If you are traveling on economy class, the seats can be quite small, and congested. Therefore by wearing as comfortable clothes as possible, you and your family will feel less cramped, and more relaxed. If your kids feel comfortable then you will feel comfortable too, so it goes both ways. Some recommended clothes to wear include loose track pants, sweaters, and t-shirts.

2. Keep your kids entertained throughout the journey

Long flights can get boring, especially for your kids. There are only so much movies you can actually watch during your flight, so therefore you must come prepared with alternative things to do for your children. Bring some toys, puzzles, books, or even video games. Basically anything that will keep your children occupied throughout the journey. The more occupied your children are the better, as this will help pass time through the flight faster.

3. Keep your kids well hydrated

The plane can get very dry, due to the pressurized cabin in which it constantly recycles the air inside. Therefore it is crucial to keep your kids well hydrated with water. Nothing can be worse than your children catching a cold on the plane because they have caught a sore throat from the dry air! It is advised not to give your kids any caffeinated or sweet drinks such as carbonated soda, as this will cause your kids to be more dehydrated. The best is to stick with water and juice, such as orange and apple juice. Also ensure your children have plenty of rest!
