If you pay attention,Best Ways to Go Sightseeing In Vietnam: A Handy Guideline For Brand New Sightseers Articles you will notice that there are dozens of different types of vehicle running around on the street. But not all of them are great for sightseeing.

So, what are the good options for tourists? I understand the problem and below is my personal list of traveling vehicles that will fit your needs. I know the list will be useful to you.

1) Travel using motorbikes

Yes, should there be a single thing lots of people say every time they detail Vietnam, it must be "Vietnam is the kingdom of motorbikes". And if you really want to know the feeling of swimming among endless sea of motorbikes, you should drive it yourself!

However, I want to point out the main thing here, it's to experience the traffic jam and go sightseeing the city at the same time. You want to try it?

2) Dedicated buses should be your friends

And they will take you to the hotel or dedicated places once you arrive. This option is viable if you're going with a travel agency. The beauty of this type of vehicles is it offers you comfort and many other stuff.

And by traveling around with the bus, you will also have a great viewpoint of the city as well. And more importantly, you don't have to worry about traffic at all as the bus driver knows the local roads.

But sticking to the plan from the travel agency is a must and I don't think you will have much freedom to go on yourself.

3) "Xich lo" is another good choice

Although it might be an unpopular term for you now, it will be more familiar as pedicab or "xich lo" in Vietnamese is one of the famous vehicle for sightseeing here in Vietnam! I suggest you give this option a try especially when you're traveling with your friends or family because it will give you the most leisure way of sightseeing.

Just tell or show the drivers where you want to go and they will bring you to the destinations in a leisure and cost-effective way.

4) Travel using cars

You might be questioning that how this is different from traveling with buses, but let me tell you, they're not the same! If you have friends in Vietnam and want to have your own time together, you should try this option. If not, you can still borrow a car for a day at a reasonable price.

This option will give you much freedom and flexibility to go anywhere you want even outside of the city. However, it requires you a decent knowledge of local roads and a good level of Vietnamese as well.

5) Explore around with the railroad system

So, what should you do if after viewing the whole city, you want to go to the next? Unless you know the roads very well and speak Vietnamese fluently, borrowing a car to go alone is not a good choice.

If that's the problem, why don't you take a ride with trains? In my opinion, it's really cost-effective and fast as well. You will also have many choices in types of seats from regular to luxury ones. But they won't cost you too much I guarantee that.
