Twice a year, in February and November at the site of the Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs , Keith McCormick’s Exotic Car Auction takes place. Now in its 25th year, the auction is a staple on the exotic car circuit and one of the leading attractions.

Twice a year, in February and November at the site of the Spa Resort Casino in  downtown Palm Springs , Keith McCormick’s Exotic Car Auction takes place. Now in its 25th year, the auction is a staple on the exotic car circuit and one of the leading attractions. A three day event, each Friday morning is set aside for check in day to get it  going, with the auction usually revving up at around 3:00 p.m.  There are typically 100 vehicles up for auction on the first day.  The first day also has  free admission to the general public and free food to all registered bidders.   It is an excellent opportunity to get the jump on the three-day activities and scope at the special car you are interested in. The vehicles sold at auction come in all shapes, sizes, models, years, and colors.  From vintage Ford Mustangs to the old gangster automobiles of the 20's, it's all for the eyes delight. On Saturday and Sunday with the gates opening at 8:00 a.m. with the first vehicle crossing the block at 10:00 a.m.  Over 225 vehicles with roll out on Saturday with over another 175 on Sunday.  General admission on these two days  is $10 per day or $15 for two days and with it comes the opportunity to see well over 500 cars in three days. Considering the variety of makes and models that are up for  auction,  there is  definitely something for everyone from the young generation's allure to the  Ferrari to the older generation's love for the classic Hudson or Edsel. The entry fee for the sellers is $300 for all three days Friday night, Saturday, or Sunday.  And if you want a prime time lot number and display location it is available for a little more. Prime time lots are generally reserved for higher end vehicles only and reservations are recommended.  If you are a seller, it is always wise to book a  spot as quickly as possible in order to get the best placement for your vehicle.
