Flying has its benefits. The biggest one is supposed to be that it saves time, but sometimes there are delays and unforeseen circumstances that can make the trip longer than if you drove to your destination.

Flying is supposed to be convenient, but in recent years it has gotten more and more restrictive and the amount of time spent waiting to get on the plane has increased drastically. Sitting in an airport or on the tarmac waiting to take off is nobody's idea of fun. It usually gets the trip, whether it is a business trip or a vacation, off to a bad and stressful start.

Flying is the best way to travel, especially when you consider the options. With gas prices skyrocketing, the hours of spending dozens of hours cooped up in a car on an interstate seeing nothing but advertisements for the next McDonald's gets old real fast. Especially since you have your music, your spouse has his or hers and the kids are screaming in the back. The friendly skies are a lot more friendly than the interstate.

Most people want the quickest and least complicated way to get from Point A to Point B and flying is the easiest, so once that is settled, it comes down to the best way to get to your destination. Flying commercial is cheap and usually easy, but you also have to deal with extra security hassles, the possibility of delays, worrying about the weight of your baggage, the lack of mobility and the lack of desk space to do work. Charter flights, while more expensive, settles those problems.

Going across the ocean or even cross the country used to be more dangerous than it is today, but now every corner of the Earth is accessible in a few hours. It used to take our forefathers months to cross the Atlantic Ocean. Now it can be done in less time than it takes to play a football game. You might pay an extra cost to fly charter, but the cost can be worth it. You can select your fellow passengers, your takeoff time, and spread out. It's worth doing some homework to weight the cost against the benefits.
