If you have ever visited Ottawa,Ottawa Events - Plenty of fun for the whole family Articles Ontario in the summer time, you will notice that there are a lot of things to see and do in Ottawa, particularly when it comes to Ottawa events. Ottawa has some great events for the whole family starting with winterlude in February on the longest skating rink in the world.

After a long winter comes to an end, the spring and summer events are pretty much continuous starting with the festival of spring or now what is called The Canadian Tulip Festival takes place in May after the winter thaw. The tulips are spectacular as they are on display all over the city along the historic rideau canal and especially at majors hill park behind the Chateau Laurier Hotel where there is live entertainment and kiosks from around the world with lot's of good food and culture and fun for kids and adults.

The next must attend event is the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival for charity. The festival is one of the largest in Canada with hundreds of participants challenging in the dragon boat races throughout the weekend. Taking place at Mooney's bay beach, there is live entertainment, a beer garden, food, shopping and plenty of things for kids to do as well. The next must see event is Canada day in Ottawa, the nations capital. If you have never been to Ottawa on Canada day you are missing out on a great party starting with the unbelievable entertainment on parliament hill with Canada's top artists on the main stage all day long starting at 10:00 am and culminating with a spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 pm.

The must see event of the year is the much anticipated Ottawa Blues Festival which features literally hundreds of live bands in an outdoor venue featuring of course blues music, rock, pop, hip hop, disco, and pretty much everything in between. Some of the past entertainers include Boz Scaggs, Johnny Winter, Brian Wilson, INXS, The Tragically Hip, Fergie, Donna Summer, Snoop Dogg and many many more. Imagine spending an entire ten days watching live bands performing while tasting great food, sipping a glass of wine or sampling some great beers, not to mention the outdoor scenery that goes along with all of that.

There are many more events in Ottawa each and every year including the Ottawa Jazz Festival and Ottawa's newest festival the Ottawa Reggae Festival which promises to be a great experience as well.
