Strong pillars, 176 in number hold the five story building. There are no walls in any floor. Only the pillars exist between each floor. Every floor on top is smaller than the one below it. There are 84 pillars at the ground floor, whereas first, second, and third floors have 56, 20, and 12 columns respectively. On the top there is a Chattri, found in many Indian historical monuments, that is supported by just four pillars. Meanwhile, the place is well connected to Agra and other nearby cities by motarable roads. Plus, there are several 3 Star hotels in Agra offering transportations to the historic city.

Talking about the Paanch Mahal, records say that the structure was associated with Akbar’s relaxation and entertainment. The structure is built close to the harem, called Zenana quarters, which consolidates that the structure was used as a pleasure resort. It is believed that pillars in the floors had Jaalis between them. The royal women and the women of the harem used the pavilion of the structure, and that is why the jaalis were there.
