Peru is a country full of attractions, drawing more and more tourists into it borders, to visit some of the most spectacular sights found in South America and the world.

With so many sights to see like the marvelous Machu Picchu, the mysterious Amazon Jungle, and the diverse wildlife at the Islas Ballestas, it is difficult to see everything in one trip to Peru. Travelers often question how to get to Machu Picchu, and there are different options depending on budget and the time available in their itinerary.† With sights spread throughout the country, there are many methods of transportation to get you to your destination.

Flying: The method by which most enter Peru, flying, has become more common within its borders as well. Many travelers are planning multi-destination trips, in which flying cuts down travel time significantly. Many with only a few days to spend traveling Peru use airlines such as LAN and TACNA, as almost all cities are within a two hour flight from Lima. Though flying is by far the most expensive option it allows travelers to see more destinations in less time. Keep an eye out though, specials can be found on both airlines, and sometimes you can find great deals making prices more comparable to bus tickets.

Bus: By far the most common and most affordable mode of transportation throughout Peruís vast terrain is by bus. Many reputable bus lines such as Linea, Ittsa, and Cruz del Sur offer tourists and locals alike, comfortable and affordable travel across the country.
