Even in a beach paradise,Playa del Carmen Hotels: Preparing for Downtime Articles you may find yourself bored. If you're staying in one of the majestic Playa del Carmen hotels and you've sunburned yourself too badly to go back out on the beach, you've hit all the tourist activities, and you don't care about watching TV, you're going to need something to do. If you had the foresight to choose a place with a bunch of amenities and facilities on the grounds, now is the time to explore them. Hit the gym, check out the arcade games, or see if there's a pool table you can use. If not, though, you may be stuck in your room. Here are some ways to deal with the downtime.

Pamper Yourself

This is your vacation after all. Why not relax? You can turn any room into a mini-spa with some creativity. Go into the bathroom and draw up a bubble bath. You can use the complimentary shampoo provided by most Playa del Carmen hotels to create the bubbles if you didn't have the foresight to bring some formula. Bring a good book into the bath with you and you'll wonder how you could have ever thought being bored was a bad thing. Make liberal use of your moisturizer, paint your nails, put a facial mask on. You have literally nothing to do so why not spend some time on yourself?

Write

Whether you've always thought you might have a novel in you or you've never written a single thing beyond emails to friends, you have time for some creative endeavors so make the best of it. Write the story of your vacation. Write a letter to yourself to be opened one year from today. Include all of your goals and hopes for the upcoming year. Describe everything that's happening in your life right now; your future self will be most amused to read it. If so inclined, start writing that novel you always knew you could pen. Most Playa del Carmen hotels will be outfitted with stationary if you prefer to write longhand.

Watch a Movie

Take a chance on a film you would never watch under normal circumstances. If horror isn't your genre, try a scary flick you've heard a lot about. If you've always avoided black and white films, check one out and see if you've been missing something all this time. If it suits your mood better, pick a movie you've seen a million times and watch it again. Sometimes a familiar movie can bring just as much pleasure as a brand new one.
