The ashram is very popular for its humanitarian works that it does under the Ramakrishna Mission. Works like rural development and relief, educating poor and old, rehabilitation of the needy, spreading the message of world harmony and brotherhood, serving poor, and doing several cultural works etc. are the prime domains which the ashram focuses onto.
