Going on holiday presents everyone with a number of questions; where you should go, and what you should do being the main two. However, there is a way you can go on holiday and have it all. You can visit a variety of interesting locations while at the same time enjoying a luxury resort experience. Going on a cruise ship can give you a unique holiday whereby you can have the same luxury accommodation while visiting several different locations, disembarking for day trips at various ports of call, and then returning to the ship at the end of the day. Cruise Ships Aren't Just for Adults Anymore
Today, cruise ships strive to provide luxury and fun for everyone – children included. It can be the ultimate travelling experience; on a cruise ship, you can go to various ports of call and see exciting places, yet experience all of the activities and luxury the ship itself provides as well.
While many of us may think that cruise ships are just for adults, that is no longer true. Many companies, in fact, strive to serve families so that children and adults both have activities they will find enjoyable. Many ships actually have children's activities directors in addition to activities directors for the adults. With many children's activities being supervised, parents can safely leave children in the care of staff for short periods of time while they go off and enjoy their own adventures. (Check with your cruise line to see what they offer in regard to children's supervised activities.) Activities You Will Find on a Cruise Ship
Of course, you can just sit and soak in the sun if you wish, but there is a lot more to do on a modern cruise ship. For the adults, there are shows including musical performances, comedy and stage shows. Special children's programmes are also often offered specifically for the kiddies. Family fun entertainment for the whole family, including sports and other contests, are also available. For relaxation, spa activities including steam baths and massages are also available. Go Ashore
In addition to on board activities, cruise ships also keep a schedule whereby they dock in various ports along the way. You can go ashore and enjoy local sites and activities with a group or on your own. Then, after a day ashore, you can return to the relaxation, fun and pampering aboard your ship, and continue on your way. Learn a New Skill
Perhaps you have never thought that you could actually learn a new skill when you are on board a ship, but you can. Many cruises offer classes in cooking, wine tasting, or dancing, just to name a few. Check out your ship's daily schedule (like those offered on P&O Cruises and Cunard Cruises) to see what is on offer. Relax
Of
course, it wouldn't be a cruise without plenty of relaxation thrown in. Cruise lines' staff are available to
meet your every need, so that you can be waited on hand and foot if you so
choose. In addition to the
activity schedule, make sure you put aside plenty of time to simply sit and
enjoy the view from your deck chair
