The Beach Vacation And How You Can Save MoneyNo one likes the thought of going on a beach vacation where the primary goal is to pinch pennies at every turn. At the same time, though, should you be denied the pleasure of having a quick sun and sand getaway just because you happen to be on a budget? Read on to learn. No one likes the thought of going on a beach vacation where the primary goal is to pinch pennies at every turn. At the same time, though, should you be denied the pleasure of having a quick sun and sand getaway just because you happen to be on a budget? Of course not. Out of town trips aren’t just for the rich. They are for anyone who needs some time away from the dreary day-to-day atmosphere of their home and job life. Few destinations fit the bill like the beach. These trips can be expensive—there’s no doubt about it. But with a little planning and some wise decision making, you can fit it into almost any budget. The number one things you can do to bring down the cost of your beach vacation is to go in the offseason. Wait, you say, who wants to go lay on the sand when it’s cold outside? No one. But just because you don’t go in the middle of summer doesn’t mean it will be cold outside. Just a bit before Memorial Day will give you the same temperatures (sometimes even a bit milder, without being anywhere near cold), and you’ll save an enormous amount of money by avoiding the peak tourist season. The hotels will be cheaper, the beaches will be far less crowded, and you’ll have an easier time getting around the town. Though it will be more expensive up front, you might think about staying somewhere with at least a small kitchen. This will give you the chance to make you own food, saving where it really counts. Most families find that much of their beach vacation budget goes to paying for every restaurant meal that comes along. This can add up in a hurry. Dining at new places can be part of the fun of a trip like this, but it doesn’t need to be every meal. Purchase some reasonable grocery store food and try to eat in your room for the majority of your meals. A beach vacation can be fun without being expensive. After all, the beach itself is free, so make sure you focus much of your enjoyment on that and don’t let yourself get caught up in the numerous tourist activities and shops that are designed to drain your wallet. It may seem like you are depriving yourself , but you will find it much easier to
enjoy your trip if you aren’t constantly worrying about your bank
account.
