Twin Falls County Historical Museum, Filer, Idaho - A Great Vacation and Travel Destination

The Twin Falls County Historical Museum in Filer, Idaho, is one of them places that the whole family should visit, when in this area of Idaho. Step back into time when life was simpler, but certainly not easier, see how the equipment, tools, and other needed items of the time were used in daily life. The Twin Falls County Historical Museum is located within the walls of the old Union School building.

A brief history of the Union School building is that it was built in the early 1900's, and was use as a School until the late 1960's, when it closed. The Twin Falls County Historical Museum has a lot of different displays and information for anyone to learn about early life in the area, such as the early pioneers or settlers, ranching, farming, and much more.

Some of the fascinating displays at the Twin Falls County Historical Museum include early farm machinery such as steam powered tractors, wagons, numerous articles of vintage clothing, butter churns, antique furniture, household utensils, report cards, photographs, postcards and much more. You will learn how daily life truly was for those that lived in the early settlement days, right up until the early 1900's.

Besides the large main building at the Twin Falls County Historical Museum, you can tour a Pioneer House and the museum grounds. There is a large park located directly behind the museum that offers picnic tables, restrooms and more. In October the park hosts the Twin Falls Farmers Market, where you can buy some locally grown produce and other items.
