The travel advisories were updated this Wednesday to better reflectthe current COVID-19 situation about other countries for the Control and Prevention of the pandemic.

The most favorable destinations have already been listed under"do-not-travel."This includes neighboring countries like Canada, the UK, Mexico, and all of South America, including Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. Europe's Level 4 warnings have been extended to Russia, Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, and many others. Much of Africa and the Middle East are also covered, and even Antarctica has been listed under the "Do Not Travel" warning.

The countries that do not come under high-level warnings include Pacific nations like Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; South East Asian countries like Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Singapore; African countries including Ghana, Nigeria, and Morocco; and even Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea.

A press release from the department said:"The Department of State strongly recommends US citizens reconsider all travel abroad. This does not imply a reassessment of the current health situation in a given country, but rather reflects an adjustment in the State Department's Travel Advisory system to rely more on CDC's existing epidemiological assessments."According to data from Johns Hopkins University, the US has vaccinated more than 76 million people against COVID-19. The US has the highest proportion of the population fully vaccinated, at 23%.
