What are the best places to go on holiday in 2011?

In this article Sarah looks at Tenerife, which is certainly one of the best holiday destinations for a family break.

The summer is coming and the question everyone is asking me is what the best holiday destinations for 2011 are? Well cheap Tenerife holidays have been a family favourite for decades now, but after the trouble in North Africa earlier in the year they are even bigger than ever. February saw more visitors this year than any month in the last 5 years. Thats massive!

The Canary Islands have remained a popular choice for so long as they really do have a little something for everyone. Of course everyone loves the weather. It isnt an exaggeration to say that Tenerife has sunny weather all year round. I think most people like the idea of a bit of sun on holiday!

You shouldnt struggle to find a decent deal with so many resorts to choose from, no wonder Tenerife is one of my best holiday destinations for 2011. If you want someone relaxing and easy, then you dont really need to leave the resort areas. Dont worry if you couldnt think of anything worse than two weeks on a beach though. With most people chilling out in the resorts, a lot of the island is ripe for exploring, and you arent falling over tourists while you are doing it!

Having a hire car gives you more options, but you will be able to manage without. A short bus ride will soon leave the tourists behind and open up a whole new Tenerife. Santa Cruz for example is a great place to see the real Tenerife. Carnival is a great time to visit, and you will soon see why the town is twinned with Rio! The Tenerife carnival is thought to be one of the best in the world. That is no small claim, but you still will find that if you want to experience for yourself you will see predominantly locals with just a few clued in visitors.
There are regular ferry rides between Canary Islands, so you might be pleasantly surprised at how easily you can move around.

You couldnt talk about Tenerife without talking about the beaches either. The amazing sandy beaches arent a natural miracle, the sand is imported from the nearby Sahara.

If you want something a bit adventurous from Tenerife you wont be disappointed. Head inland for the adventureArticle Search, and then rest your weary bones on the beach when you need to relax a little!
