Facial Fat Loss Tips You Can Employ Today

When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Fresh, glowing skin, a firm jaw line, high cheekbones? If so, congratulations, you're among the lucky people who don't have to deal with a "pudgy" face. If you do, though, there's help. With the right techniques, you can accomplish facial fat loss.

Some of us are just genetically born with more amply padded chins and cheeks. If you do need to lose weight, of course, doing so will help you unearth those stunning features.

Plastic surgery?

It's true that plastic surgery can often help you get rid of facial fat, but facial fat loss achieved naturally probably means better health for you in other ways. For example, if you have experienced weight gain and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere, there may be significant reasons why. For example, maybe your diet is poor, maybe you're exposed to toxins that lead to weight gain and yes, aging, or maybe you're not getting enough sleep.

Not getting enough sleep is one of the biggest reasons for facial fat, and getting enough sleep is one of the easiest ways to achieve facial fat loss. When you don't sleep enough, your body boosts its production of cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Cortisol encourages your body to hang on to fat around your belly, and that fat can also show up in your face.

Simply by getting enough sleep, you lower cortisol levels, and this can help with facial fat loss as well as bodily fat loss. Sleep also influences the hormones ghrelin and leptin. Ghrelin is known as the "hunger hormone," and it goes up when you don't sleep enough. When leptin levels are adequate, appetite is suppressed.

In other words, ghrelin tells you it's time to eat, and leptin tells you it's time to stop. When you don't sleep enough, these hormones are out of whack, so that you can eat (and truly feel hungry), thus adding to fat stores.

Food allergies, too, can make your face look puffy and "fat," although these symptoms are temporary and can be significantly improved, ultimately disappearing altogether, once you take the culprits out of your diet.

All of these things can lead to facial fat, and the biggest thing you can do to aid facial fat loss is simply to practice healthy lifestyle habits. Eat well (and avoid foods you are allergic to), sleep enough, exercise, and drink enough water, and you should see facial fat stores begin to go down.

Another thing: because so much of what's in the grocery store these days is processed, that's also a significant contributor to fat stores, including those on your face. So, stay away from processed foods, and foods that are significantly high in fat or sugar.

Instead, focus on a fresh healthy diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and "good" fats like omega-3 fatty acids. Pretty soon, you could see facial fat loss happening, so that facial fat -- and other excess fat, too -- simply disappears of its own accord.
