Everybody can remember toys in the childhood and hide them deep inside the mind with love and happy. Toys are almost the same around the world, including toy car, toy train, toy bricks, cockhorse, toy figure, toy bear and doll etc. But they are presented in connection with the culture of each country. The Zagorsk Toy Museum in Moscow displays the 200 history of Russian toys, where Evgenia Mirosnikenko, designer of the Hermes Scarf, acquires inspiration.
Hermes “Russian Toy Museum” Scarf is just as a messy box full of all kinds of toys. Traditionally in Russia, toys are simple, colorful and made of rough and natural materials such as wood, tree bark, straw or cloth. There is particular meaning on each color. For example, red symbolizes delight and happiness; blue is an express of tranquility and calm. We can see horse symbolizing the god of sun and Troyka running and carrying with stars (Russian believes that horse will bring luck to children). We can also spot tower,dome,pointed roof and fir hut, which is assembled with toy bricks. Several toys, such as rattle drum and toy bear, are made of wood which is an emblem of Yggdrasil, the world tree. And of course, there are impressive matryoshka which is a hollow wooden doll that can be pulled apart to display another figure of the same type inside. Last but not least, the ornamental flowers on the edges of the Hermes Scarves are the classic patterns of Russian embroidery.
