Wearing jewellery is fun, but what is even more fun is making your own cheap name necklace. A name necklace is very popular these days because of the personalized touch of having your very own name onto something that you wear around your neck. In this type of necklace, you just need string, glue, some charms and a lot of recycled paper. These are all the materials you need in order to make a necklace that not only spells your name but also F-U-N!

When you are going to make a cheap name necklace out of recycled paper, your first step is to cut up strips of paper in colors that you like. You can use old magazines, newspapers or scratch papers. Try to choose the most colourful parts of the pages to make your name necklace nice and bright. Cut them into skinny triangles with the widest width at just about two centineters long. You will need as many strips as the length you desire for your necklace, so keep cutting and keep storing those strips of paper. Once you have finished that, set it aside for a bit till you need it.

The next thing to do to make your cheap name necklace is to take an old paintbrush, a small pot of glue and a barbecue stick. Take the old paintbrush, dip it in glue then spread it across one side of a magazine cut-out strip. Once that side is nice and damp with glue, take the barbecue stick and put it on the widest width of the newspaper strip. To make the beads for your name necklace, gently roll the barbecue strip carefully so the strip will wrap itself around it. Once you get to the edge, seal it with your fingers then slide out the barbecue strip. Voila! You have your first bead.

Keep doing this to all the strips of paper for your cheap name necklace. For the actual name itself to be on a name necklace, take as many pieces of beads as there are letters in your name then with a fancy marker write out each letter. These are your main name beads. Let the beads dry for a bit, then if you have time you can glaze it with a protective covering using clear nail polish. Again, let it dry. After some time you can begin stringing your cheap name necklace. Take a bit of fishing spool or a nice sturdy piece of string and a necklace lock. Tie one end of the lock on it.

Take all your strung-up paper beads then push it through the string, carefully taking the letters of your name and making sure they land in the exact center part of the necklace. Then, tie the other end of the lock on the very end. Cut out the excess string and try it on. You now have a beautiful, handmade cheap name necklace made out of recycled paper. If you have timeFree Web Content, why not go for the whole shebang and make an entire jewellery set out of it?
