70s Nostalgia is really something a lot of people who grew up from that period would never forget. Take for example the Mini Skirt. Mary Quant, chanteuse of the swinging 60s Carnaby Street, is credited as the first to reveal ultra short miniskirt. The mini-skirt that has been quite an all-too-revealing garment has coincided with the birth of the sexual revolution and exposed more legs. The birth control pill came into the market around the 60s and in 1962, feminists and future cosmopolitan editor Helen Gurley Brown published Sex and the Single Girl, a guide or support manual for young women who refused marriage but didn’t want to sacrifice the most primal urge.
The mini-skirt was the best ad for the sexual revolution and at that time, sex was everywhere and even more shocking was that girls are enjoying sex and they are talking about it.

Girls have the freedom to strut their stuff and free to expose their sensuality and men well, they just have to deal with it. It was the beginning of the sexy trendy women clothes and girls are gaining freedom and a sense of individual resignation from the common conception of being a woman.
And the fact is, everyone wanted trendy women clothes and that means wearing the mini.
No more covering up, keeping the flesh from being seen because of the consequences of temptation. The miniskirt was a bold statement the new confidence of a woman’s body and her place in the feminine world. Protection and ‘providing for’ was no longer what the modern 60s gal wanted. She’s the one calling the shots and in her new sexy mini-skirt, she got what she wanted.
