Brief biography:
Eric Letendre took his first dog training class with his beagle-mix "Union" when he was 10 years old in Glastonbury, CT. His professional career started in 1988 when he was hired as a security patrol dog handler for St. Francis Hospital Security Department in Hartford, CT.
Within two years he was promoted to K-9 Supervisor. In 1992 he completed the Professional Dog Trainer's Course at Connecticut K-9 Education Center in Newington, CT where he received his degrees in Professional Dog Training and Security Dog Training. Upon graduation he was hired by Connecticut K-9 and was quickly promoted to Director of Training. In 1995, Eric relocated to Massachusetts and opened American Canine in Westport MA which quickly grew into southern New England's premier pet care facility; offering dog training, boarding, grooming, and daycare. Since 1995 Eric has continued working in many diverse areas of the pet industry including working as an animal control officer for the city of Fall River, MA, K-9 consultant for World Wide Plaza in Manhattan, NY, and K-9 consultant for Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. He has provided training and behavior programs for many animal shelters including Placing Paws in Tiverton, RI, Animal Rescue League of New Bedford, Potter League for Animals in Middletown, RI and Forever Paws in Fall River, MA and has helped literally thousands of dog owners. Eric is excited to be able to offer his 18+ years experience to dog owners in Western Mass and is now providing one-on-one in home dog training. Eric is also the author of numerous reports, the book, "The Amazing Dog Training Man," senior editor of "Smart Dog Video Newsletter," and produced and stared in his dog training DVD, "Secrets of a Professional Dog Trainer."
