Brief biography:
William Speir was born in Birmingham, Alabama, and graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has spent most of his professional career as a management consultant, working for companies and with clients across the United States, Canada, Bermuda, and the United Kingdom. He has lived in Alabama, Michigan, Texas, Connecticut, and Florida.
William Speir is a published author of several articles and papers on leadership and the human impact to change. In addition, he has published ten textbooks on the types, nomenclature, capabilities and deployment of field artillery in the 19th century. He teaches artillery safety to Civil War Reenactors as part of the Instructor Cadre of the Loyal Train of Artillery Chapter of the United States Field Artillery Association Artillery Schools. William Speir currently lives in Central Florida with his wife Lee Anne. His son is in the United States Marine Corps and his daughter is preparing to enter the USMC’s Officer Candidate Program.
