There are gender differences in learning styles specific to science, math, engineering and technology (STEM) that teachers of these subjects should keep in mind when developing lesson plans and teaching in the classroom. Within this article are solutions to ensure that girls will get the building block SMET skills that many will be missing. It offers suggestions such as bringing in role models, appealing to female interests (i.e. robots as animals instead of as monsters in the teaching of robotics), and having students collaborate on technology projects.
